These Terms of Use apply to The Eczema Expert website, The Eczema Expert app and the free or paid digital resources made available through them.
Please read them before using our services.
1. Who we are
The Eczema Expert is operated by: BONNETONE SERVICES LIMITED
Trading as: The Eczema Expert
Address: 5 Jonquil Way, Colchester, CO4 5UW
Email: rebecca@eczemaexpert.co.uk
References in these terms to “The Eczema Expert”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the business identified above.
2. What we provide
The Eczema Expert provides educational content and wellbeing support relating to eczema, family life and complementary approaches.
Content may include videos, audio recordings, written lessons, courses, downloads, community discussions, live sessions, family stories, supplier information and other resources.
Some content is available free of charge. Other services or additional support may require payment.
Paid personalised services may also be subject to a separate client agreement.
3. Medical information
Use of our website or app is also subject to our Medical & Health Disclaimer.
Information provided through The Eczema Expert is not a substitute for appropriate medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment.
You should seek appropriate medical advice where required and should not stop or alter prescribed medication solely because of information obtained through our services.
4. Your account
Where an account is required, you are responsible for providing accurate information and keeping your login details secure.
Accounts are for the registered user’s personal use.
You must not knowingly allow another person to access paid or restricted content using your account unless we have expressly permitted this.
Please contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
5. Parents and children
Much of our content is designed for parents and carers supporting children with eczema.
Accounts and purchases should be made by adults aged 18 or over.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for decisions concerning their children.
6. Using our content
Our resources are provided for your own personal and family use.
Unless we give written permission, you may not reproduce, sell, publish, upload, distribute, teach from, commercially exploit or make our paid or proprietary materials available to other people.
You are welcome to discuss what you have learned in your own words and share public links to our website or app.
All intellectual property rights in original content produced by The Eczema Expert remain with The Eczema Expert or the relevant copyright owner.
7. Community behaviour
Where community discussions, live calls, comments or other interactive features are available, we expect members to communicate respectfully.
We may remove content or suspend or terminate access where behaviour is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, harassing, deliberately disruptive, unlawful or seriously harmful to another member.
Where practical and appropriate, we will act proportionately and explain our decision.
Members must respect the privacy of other families and must not share another person’s personal story, photographs, health information or private messages outside the community without their permission.
8. Community confidentiality
We ask everyone participating in community areas or group calls to respect the privacy of other members.
However, because other members are independent individuals, we cannot guarantee that another participant will always comply with these expectations.
Please therefore consider carefully what personal information you choose to share in a group setting.
9. Health and personal information
Information about a person’s physical or emotional health may constitute particularly sensitive personal information.
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits the data-protection rights you have under applicable law.
10. Third-party links and suppliers
Our website and app may contain links to third-party websites, products, services, booking systems or suppliers.
A link or recommendation does not mean that we control the third party, and we cannot guarantee that a product, price, formulation, service or website will remain unchanged.
Purchases from third parties are subject to their own terms and privacy arrangements.
Where a link is an affiliate link or we receive a financial benefit from a recommendation, this should be clearly disclosed.
11. Availability and changes
We continually develop The Eczema Expert and may add, update, reorganise or remove content.
We will not intentionally remove a significant paid benefit during an agreed paid period without reasonable justification or, where appropriate, offering a suitable alternative.
We may temporarily restrict access where maintenance, security, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control make this necessary.
12. Purchases, subscriptions and digital content
Prices, payment arrangements, subscription periods and cancellation arrangements will be explained before you purchase.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms.
Where UK law gives you a cooling-off or cancellation right, we will not use these Terms to remove it.
If you purchase digital content and request immediate access during a statutory cancellation period, we may ask you to expressly consent to receiving that content immediately and acknowledge any effect that has on your cancellation rights.
Where you purchase an ongoing personalised service, additional terms may be provided in a separate client agreement.
UK government guidance currently requires businesses selling online to provide consumers with specified pre-contract information and, in many circumstances, a 14-day cancellation period; special rules apply where digital downloads or streaming begin immediately.
13. No guaranteed outcomes
We do not promise or guarantee a particular health outcome.
Progress can vary significantly between individuals and families.
Testimonials and family stories should not be interpreted as guarantees of similar results.
14. Our responsibility to you
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful to do so, nor does anything in these Terms affect your statutory consumer rights.
We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen when the contract was entered into, subject always to your rights under applicable law.
If you use our services for personal purposes, we do not seek to exclude responsibility that the law requires us to accept.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using free services at any time.
Any cancellation rights relating to paid services will be set out at the time of purchase or in the relevant client agreement.
We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms, fraud, misuse of our services, unlawful activity or behaviour that puts other members at risk.
We will act reasonably when exercising this right.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example where our services change or where legal requirements change.
The latest version will be available through our website or app and will show its most recent update date.
Where a change materially affects an existing paid service, we will take reasonable steps to bring that change to your attention.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere, nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you under the law of the country or part of the UK in which you live.
